Is there an API for Japanese Pokémon cards?
Yes. The Master Setter Catalog API has 22,164 Japanese Pokémon TCG cards across 239 sets, with card and set names in Japanese, and 19,177 individual printings. Responses are JSON over HTTPS, and there is a remote MCP server for AI agents.
Are the card names in Japanese?
Yes. Names are stored exactly as printed (for example "ピカチュウ"), and set names include an English translation where one exists, so you can search in Japanese or map to English sets.
How much does it cost?
Japanese data is on the Indie plan ($29/month, 50,000 requests, commercial use OK) and above. Studio ($99/month) adds card images. The free tier covers English only.
Does it include every printing?
Yes: 1st Edition, unlimited, holo and reverse holo, stamped promos and other variants are modeled as separate printings (19,177 for Japanese). Paid plans can return a whole set with every printing inline in one or two calls.
